Common questions
How do I get Google Analytics data into a sheet for the report?
Use the free "GA4 Reports Builder" or "Supermetrics (free tier)" Workspace add-on. Both pull GA4 data into Sheets on a daily refresh. Point the report template at that sheet.
Can the report compare period-over-period?
Yes — if the source sheet contains both current and previous period values (most GA Sheets exports do this), the report shows the delta automatically.
Does this work with Universal Analytics or only GA4?
Both, as long as the exporter you use can write to a Sheet. GA4 is the active platform; UA stopped collecting data in 2023.
Can the GA report be combined with other data?
Yes. Add additional tabs to the source sheet (paid spend, conversions, revenue) and the report can pull from any tab. Cross-reference channel performance with spend or revenue all in one deck.
