A presentation, not a copy of your pages
Most PDF to PowerPoint converters copy each page onto a slide, either as a picture or as text boxes scattered where the PDF had them. That keeps the look of the PDF, but you end up with one slide per page and paragraphs nobody can read from the back of a room.
This converter does something different. It reads the text of your PDF, works out the main points and writes a presentation from them. A ten-page report becomes a deck with a title slide, section dividers and slides of short points, each with its own heading.
The facts in your document are kept. In testing, a three-page field report produced slides that quoted its own figures, such as a 79 percent hive survival rate, instead of generic filler.
What you get in the .pptx file
- Editable text. Every title and bullet point is an ordinary PowerPoint text box, so you can change the wording, font and size.
- A designed layout. Slides follow the theme you pick, with cards, section breaks and image layouts, rather than the page design of the PDF.
- Pictures. Slides get photos that fit their topic. When the PDF contains diagrams or charts as images, SlideMaker tries to place them on the matching slide.
- A small label. Each slide carries a "Made with SlideMaker.app" label in the bottom-right corner. It is a normal text box, so you can delete it in PowerPoint.
How to convert a PDF to PowerPoint
- Drop your PDF into the box at the top of this page, or click the box to choose a file. You can add several files and they are combined into one deck.
- Pick a detail level. Concise keeps only the key points; Detailed gives more slides and keeps more of the supporting detail.
- Click Generate Presentation and choose a theme. A short report took about 20 seconds in testing; long documents take longer.
- Open the presentation. Change any slide in the browser editor before you download.
- Click Share, then Export, then PowerPoint (.pptx). If you are not signed in yet, this step asks you to sign in with Google or an email address. It is free.
Where it saves the most time

- Lecture notes and handouts that need to become teaching slides for the next class.
- Research papers for a journal club, a seminar or the first draft of a thesis defence.
- Proposals and plans that you want to pitch in ten slides instead of twenty pages.
When to use a different tool
- You need the pages exactly as they look. This tool rewrites your content as slides. If every page must be reproduced as it is, a page-by-page converter is the better choice.
- Your PDF is a scan. A scanned PDF that is only pictures of pages has no text to read. In testing, a scanned page returned 4 words, and the converter needs at least 50. Run the scan through OCR first.
- You expect one slide per page. Long documents are condensed. A 100-page PDF becomes a summary deck, not 100 slides.
