Welcome to SlideMaker.app. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of SlideMaker.app (the “Service”), a personal project operated by an individual developer. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

1. About SlideMaker.app
SlideMaker.app is a free AI-powered presentation maker that helps users create slide decks from text prompts, documents, and other inputs. SlideMaker.app is a non-commercial, personal portfolio project operated by an individual developer for educational and demonstration purposes. It is not a company, and is provided free of charge.
The Service is offered as-is, without any commercial guarantees. Features may be added, changed, or removed at any time. The Service is not a replacement for professional presentation software and should not be relied upon for mission-critical work.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use SlideMaker.app. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you should review these Terms with a parent or guardian.
SlideMaker.app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has used the Service, please contact [email protected] immediately.
3. Account Registration
Some features of SlideMaker.app require you to sign in with a Google account. When you sign in:
- You agree to provide accurate information
- You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
- You must notify the developer immediately of any unauthorized access
SlideMaker.app reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or engage in abusive, fraudulent, or harmful behavior.
4. Acceptable Use
When you use SlideMaker.app, you agree not to:
- Use the Service for any illegal, harmful, or fraudulent purpose
- Generate, upload, or share content that is illegal, abusive, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or infringes on the rights of others
- Generate content that contains hate speech, violence, sexual content involving minors, or other prohibited material
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the Service
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access the Service without permission
- Overload the Service with excessive requests, denial-of-service attacks, or other abusive traffic patterns
- Attempt to bypass rate limits, access controls, or other security measures
- Use the Service to train competing AI models without permission
- Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
- Upload content that contains malware, viruses, or malicious code
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
SlideMaker.app reserves the right to remove content, suspend accounts, or deny service to any user who violates these rules.
5. User Content
Ownership
You retain all rights to the presentations and content you create using SlideMaker.app. SlideMaker.app does not claim ownership of your content.
License to SlideMaker.app
By creating or uploading content, you grant SlideMaker.app a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, display, and process your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. This license ends when you delete your content or your account.
Responsibility for Content
You are solely responsible for the content you create, upload, or generate. You warrant that:
- You have the right to use any text, images, or other materials you upload
- Your content does not infringe on any third-party intellectual property rights
- Your content complies with these Terms and applicable laws
SlideMaker.app is not responsible for user-generated content and does not endorse any opinions or claims made in user-created presentations.
AI-Generated Content
SlideMaker.app uses large language models (LLMs) and other AI services to generate slide content. You acknowledge that:
- AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies, errors, biases, or fabricated information
- You are responsible for reviewing and verifying any AI-generated content before using it
- SlideMaker.app does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI output
- AI output may resemble content created by other users or publicly available sources
6. Intellectual Property
SlideMaker.app Property
The SlideMaker.app name, logo, website design, source code, and all related materials (except user content) are the property of the developer and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without permission.
Third-Party Components
SlideMaker.app uses open-source libraries, third-party services (Google, OpenAI, Anthropic, Unsplash, etc.), and stock images. These components are governed by their own licenses and terms.
Unsplash Images
Images in SlideMaker.app that come from Unsplash are provided under the Unsplash License. You may use them in your presentations, but please do not redistribute them as stand-alone image files.
7. Third-Party Services
SlideMaker.app integrates with third-party services to provide its features, including but not limited to:
- Google (sign-in, Google Slides export, Drive API, Analytics)
- OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini (AI content generation)
- Unsplash (stock images)
- AWS, MySQL, Redis (infrastructure)
Your use of these services through SlideMaker.app is also subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. SlideMaker.app is not responsible for the behavior or availability of third-party services.
Google Slides Export Feature
When you use the “Open in Google Slides” feature, SlideMaker.app will request permission to create files in your Google Drive via the drive.file OAuth scope. This access is limited to files SlideMaker.app creates. You can revoke access at any time from your Google Account settings. See the Privacy Policy for full details on how SlideMaker.app handles Google user data.
8. Service Availability
SlideMaker.app is provided on a best-effort basis as a personal project. The developer does not guarantee:
- Continuous, uninterrupted, or error-free operation
- Availability of all features at all times
- Preservation of your content in the event of server failure or other issues
The Service may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time without notice. You are encouraged to back up important content (e.g., download as PPTX or export to Google Slides).
9. Termination
You may stop using SlideMaker.app at any time. To delete your account and all associated data, contact [email protected].
SlideMaker.app reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if:
- You violate these Terms
- You engage in abusive, fraudulent, or harmful behavior
- The Service is discontinued
- Required by law
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will continue to apply.
10. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR ACCURACY.
SlideMaker.app does not warrant that:
- The Service will meet your requirements
- The Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
- The content generated by AI will be accurate, reliable, or free of errors
- Any defects in the Service will be corrected
- Your content will be preserved in the event of data loss
You use the Service at your own risk. SlideMaker.app is a hobby project and not a commercial product.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE DEVELOPER OF SLIDEMAKER.APP SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
IN NO EVENT SHALL THE TOTAL LIABILITY OF SLIDEMAKER.APP EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100) OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO USE THE SERVICE IN THE PAST TWELVE MONTHS, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of liability for consequential damages. If you are in such a jurisdiction, some of the above disclaimers may not apply to you, but the liability cap will still apply to the maximum extent permitted.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless SlideMaker.app and its developer from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorney’s fees) arising out of or related to:
- Your use of the Service
- Your content
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any rights of a third party
13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Georgia, and you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of such courts.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
14. Changes to These Terms
These Terms may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Material changes will be highlighted at the top of the page. Continued use of SlideMaker.app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
15. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and SlideMaker.app regarding your use of the Service. If there is a conflict between these Terms and any other document, these Terms will prevail unless otherwise specified.
