The slides are not your script. What you say and what the audience reads are different things. The points under each slide are a starting draft pulled from your own sentences, usually far too many words to project. Cut them down and keep the full wording in your speaker notes, where it belongs.
How the timing is worked out
Word count divided by your chosen speaking rate. Presentation delivery usually sits somewhere between 110 and 150 words a minute, slower than conversation because of pauses, emphasis and looking at the room. It is an estimate, not a stopwatch: questions, demos and nerves all move it. Treat a script that lands exactly on the limit as already over.
